Finnish technology manufacturer Elcogen and Swiss engineering firm Casale have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on green ammonia and Power-to-X (P2X) projects. Elcogen will explore integrating its solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) technology, commonly used for green hydrogen production, into Casale's plants and potentially other P2X applications worldwide. The aim of the partnership is to reduce CO2 emissions in ammonia production by incorporating green hydrogen technology and leveraging renewable energy sources. Elcogen's Director of Business Development, Mikael Jansen, believes that solid oxide technology will soon achieve cost parity with other systems like PEM and alkaline, offering greater scalability and minimal reliance on precious materials.
