TECO Electric & Machinery made a significant impact at the ACT Expo by showcasing its cutting-edge electric drive systems. The TECO Group's display included a variety of products and services, notably their electric drive systems tailored for EV powertrains and high-power DC fast charging stations. Chairman Morris Li highlighted the company's strategic focus on EV powertrains and charging infrastructure, underlining these as key goals. The latest innovations from TECO encompass a blend of technological expertise from Taiwan and the U.S., signifying a strong push towards international markets. One of the standout unveilings was the EVK Hairpin Motor designed for commercial vehicles. TECO recently acquired EVK Motor, introducing their third-generation hairpin motor known for its thermal design, high power density, and exceptional peak efficiency of 97.8%. This motor, weighing under 55 kilograms, boasts features such as an integrated oil pump and radiator, delivering power ranging from 50 to 300 kW and torque between 150 and 550 Nm. The motor is specifically tailored for electric axle systems in medium and large commercial vehicles like buses and trucks, promising enhanced mobility while addressing constraints related to size, weight, and capacity. In another stride towards innovation, TECO, in collaboration with NexE, introduced 30kW and 60kW DC fast chargers and the PowerCube portable EV power distribution system. These smart chargers offer rapid charging, intelligent features, and seamless integration of renewable energy sources to expedite the charging process and enhance energy efficiency. By expanding its charging portfolio to include outputs up to 480kW, TECO is aiming to capture global markets, with a particular emphasis on Europe, North America, India, and China. Furthermore, TECO's global strategy involves heavy investments in EV powertrain systems across multiple regions. In Taiwan, the company has a stronghold by powering 80% of electric bus powertrain systems and introducing advanced hydrogen bus technology with a 235kW SiC direct-drive system. In India, TECO has already shipped prototypes and is gearing up for mass production of its 200kW and 235kW direct-drive systems in the upcoming quarters. In North America, TECO has set its sights on electric buses and trucks as primary market segments, aligning with its vision of leading the commercial vehicle industry towards sustainable and efficient electric mobility.
