D3 Energy has expanded its clean energy portfolio by acquiring two exploration permits in the Arckaringa Basin, South Australia, for helium and hydrogen. Spanning a vast expanse of 80,000 square kilometres, these permits, PEL 121 and PEL 122, were obtained through the purchase of Unleash Energy Pty Ltd. The region, known for its underexplored potential in helium and hydrogen, is strategically located near Coober Pedy and Oodnadatta, offering favorable infrastructure and regulatory support. This move complements D3 Energy's existing helium project in South Africa, positioning the company as a multi-jurisdictional explorer in the global energy transition space. Geological similarities with the nearby Amadeus Basin further enhance the prospectivity of the region, with early-stage targets Hydrohelix and Cootanoorina showing promising traits. D3 Energy aims to attract joint venture partners to leverage external funding for exploration work, emphasizing the drill-ready nature of the Hydrohelix structure. Despite the focus on Australian assets, D3 Energy continues progress in its South African project, with preparations for a Production Right application moving ahead of schedule.
