In a significant move to advance India's green energy goals, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi launched the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India (GHCI) during the National Workshop on Opportunities for MSMEs in the Green Hydrogen Supply Chain in New Delhi. The scheme aims to create a transparent framework for certifying green hydrogen production, supporting India's efforts to establish a self-reliant green hydrogen ecosystem. The workshop, attended by various stakeholders, discussed technology collaboration, business opportunities, decentralized production, and investment strategies in the green hydrogen sector. MNRE Secretary emphasized the need for capacity building and financial access for MSMEs, with discussions on blended finance models and green credit lines. Experts highlighted the potential of decentralised hydrogen production with biomass, advocating for Green Hydrogen Clusters and R&D platforms. The workshop signals a crucial step in integrating MSMEs into India's clean energy transition, with a focus on manufacturing, rural initiatives, and technology-driven growth.
