IndianOil has finalized the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen to establish a 10,000 Tonnes Per Annum Green Hydrogen Generation Unit at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex, heralding its foray into the green hydrogen sector. The project, aimed for commissioning by December 2027, will see the production of green hydrogen to replace fossil-derived hydrogen in the refinery's operations, resulting in a significant reduction in carbon emissions. This strategic move aligns with India's green energy mission and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's National Green Hydrogen Mission. IndianOil's Chairman, Arvinder Singh Sahney, announced substantial progress on the plant at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, stating that within two years, the green hydrogen plant in Panipat, Haryana, will be operational. This initiative not only supports a sustainable and environment-friendly model but also strengthens IndianOil's position as a leader in the country's energy transformation journey. The project's significance lies in its contribution to decarbonization, a critical part of IndianOil's larger strategy towards achieving net zero emissions and facilitating India's transition to a cleaner and greener energy future.
