A recent study by the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) in India unveils the substantial state-level support potential for green hydrogen. The study indicates that existing policies could generate an additional $61 billion in incentives, with power-related incentives accounting for $38 billion. This support, spread across 12 states, complements the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to boost domestic production and exports. Key states such as Odisha and Maharashtra are identified as pivotal in driving India's green hydrogen ecosystem forward. The report emphasizes the need for efficient execution to capitalize on incentives for project development and export competitiveness, ultimately positioning India as a leader in green hydrogen production.
