In a recent session chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the Jordanian Council of Ministers approved a land use agreement with Indian company Ocior Energy to conduct feasibility studies on a green hydrogen production project in Jordan. The government of Jordan has prioritized the development of a green ammonia and green hydrogen industry, signing several Memorandums of Understanding with international partners to explore investments in this emerging energy sector. The goal is to establish Jordan as a key player in the production and export of green hydrogen in the region. Green hydrogen, generated through electrolysis powered by renewable electricity, offers a sustainable and clean energy alternative for various applications like electricity generation, industrial processes, and heating. This initiative is in line with Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision (2020–2030), which focuses on sustainable resource development and underscores investment in green hydrogen projects as crucial strategic objectives for the country's economic growth and modernization.
