During the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, Hydrogen Europe and LAC Clean Hydrogen Action signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance international collaboration for the deployment, uptake, and trade of clean hydrogen and its derivatives. The agreement aims to address regulatory challenges, foster innovation, and explore new markets by connecting the European and Latin American business communities. With a combined membership of over 600 organizations along the hydrogen value chain, the partnership focuses on areas such as regulation, certification, skills development, infrastructure, innovation, and green corridors. By joining forces, the organizations seek to accelerate the adoption of clean hydrogen technologies and participate in global initiatives crucial for clean energy deployment. The collaboration highlights the commitment of both regions to sustainable development and the energy transition. Through leveraging the abundant renewable energy resources in Latin America and the Caribbean, the alliance aims to position the region as a leader in the production and export of clean energy. The partnership signifies a significant milestone in advancing the EU-LAC hydrogen agenda, promoting inter-regional industry cooperation, and working towards a common pathway for a decarbonised global economy. The LAC Clean Hydrogen Action Alliance, established in the framework of COP26, is dedicated to uniting stakeholders in the Latin America and Caribbean region to drive the development of the hydrogen industry, foster collaboration, and contribute to the global energy transition and decarbonisation efforts.
