In Berlin, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyễn Hoàng Long and Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Stefan Rouenhoff signed a Joint Declaration establishing the Việt Nam-Germany Energy Partnership. The partnership aims to accelerate Vietnam's energy transition towards carbon neutrality and enhanced energy security by focusing on renewable energy sources like offshore wind, solar power, and green hydrogen. Both nations will work on refining energy policies, digitalizing the power sector, and supporting decarbonisation in industries resistant to emissions cuts. The partnership will conduct high-level steering committee meetings, technical working groups, and efforts in training, research, and business networking. Deputy Minister Long outlined Vietnam's energy goals, including ambitious targets for solar and wind power capacity by 2030. Both sides expressed optimism about the growing momentum in bilateral trade and energy relations, with a focus on green transition. German energy firms operating in Vietnam participated in a seminar discussing renewable energy projects and future collaboration, with plans for a training centre to develop technical workers and engineers in renewable energy. The Vietnam-Germany Energy Partnership aims to deepen energy collaboration, contribute to sustainable development goals, and strengthen workforce training and economic cooperation between the two nations.
