Plug Power Inc. has announced the successful operation of its GenEco electrolyzer systems at The Green Box, a cleantech innovation campus in the Netherlands. The site features 1 MW and 5 MW PEM electrolyzers actively supporting live demonstrations and technical workshops for European customers. Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power, highlighted the significance of showcasing GenEco under real-world conditions to reinforce confidence in their technology. The site's recent hydrogen production launch demonstrated the 5 MW GenEco system operating at full load, primarily powered by on-site solar, showcasing the economic benefits of utilizing renewable power. The Green Box's advanced energy infrastructure, including a 6 MW public grid connection and 10 kV network, enables Plug's deployment and highlights the potential for scaling technologies like GenEco electrolyzers. This initiative strengthens Plug's European presence and aligns with the region's hydrogen strategy, supported by policy programs like the EU Green Deal and the UK Energy Act. The Green Box not only serves as a live customer showcase but also functions as an innovation hub, driving discussions and advancements in the clean energy sector.
