Peixian Zhongjin Trading Co., Ltd. in Jiangsu Province, China, recently announced a public tender for the procurement of solid-state metal hydrogen storage forklifts, hydrogen-powered sightseeing vehicles, boats, and shared bicycles. The estimated procurement amount for these hydrogen-powered vehicles and bikes is 32.8 million yuan. This initiative is part of a larger effort to advance the hydrogen energy industry in Peixian County. In 2023, the Jiangsu Provincial National Development and Reform Commission supported Peixian County in building a hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing base. The project focuses on accelerating the integration of hydrogen energy in construction machinery industries and attracting core parts projects like hydrogen compressors and storage cylinders. The goal is to create a unique hydrogen energy industrial cluster, complemented by XCMG Group's hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Additionally, the initiative aims to promote policy optimization, address institutional bottlenecks, and launch pilot projects for large-scale hydrogen production. The project also includes demonstration applications of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks to establish replicable and scalable models. This sustainable initiative reflects a positive step towards renewable energy and industrial development in Peixian County.
