The fourth edition of the Hydrogen Summer School in Rome, organized by ENEA in collaboration with academic partners, gathered around 50 participants to delve into the role of hydrogen in the energy transition. The school aimed to provide comprehensive training on hydrogen's potential, opportunities, and challenges across the supply chain. Participants engaged in interactive sessions and discussed the importance of adapting technologies and developing new professional skills to support the growth of hydrogen as an energy vector. The school highlighted the industry and academia's interest in utilizing hydrogen to achieve decarbonization goals outlined in national and European strategies. With over 20 teachers from various backgrounds, the school combined classroom lessons with practical group activities, including a realistic simulation to tackle energy transition challenges. Discussions also touched upon the upcoming Hydrogen Demo Valley project, set to become the first national center for hydrogen technologies for training and technology transfer. ENEA emphasized the importance of creating new skills to support the evolving energy landscape, with upcoming training schools focusing on hydrogen, sustainable mobility, and bioenergy. The event showcased a positive sentiment towards hydrogen as a key player in the transition towards a more sustainable and innovative energy future.
