Queensland-based Stralis Aircraft has entered into a strategic research and development agreement with Akita University and Akita Prefectural University in Japan to accelerate hydrogen aircraft propulsion technologies. The collaboration, announced during a trade mission by the Queensland Government, aims to enhance workforce training and establish joint research programs for hydrogen aircraft technology. The partnership, facilitated by Japanese industrial giant IHI and Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) Japan, is a key component of the Queensland–Japan Trade and Investment Strategy 2025–2028. Minister Ros Bates highlighted the significance of this deal in boosting practical trade engagement and creating economic opportunities.
