The Victorian government has launched a $4.75 million skills solutions partnerships program to boost local skills in alignment with the evolving needs of the economy. The program aims to secure future job prospects by providing grants to industry partnerships collaborating with training providers. Minister Colin Brooks highlighted the importance of innovative training to address skills shortages in various sectors. The first round of grants supported projects in manufacturing, clean economy, digital, construction, healthcare, and social services. Notably, one project focused on training auto technicians to service hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, contributing to reducing industry emissions. Another project involved upskilling early career researchers in medtech commercialisation. The initiative, supported by Minister Gayle Tierney, brings together industry and education stakeholders to create a more dynamic Victorian economy and ensure that educational institutions meet industry demands.
