OQ Gas Networks SAOG (OQGN) has partnered with Fluxys, a Belgium-based company, to develop a hydrogen transportation network in Oman. This collaboration follows an earlier Memorandum of Understanding and Fluxys' acquisition of a stake in OQGN. The agreement aims to support Oman's Vision 2040 and national hydrogen production targets by fast-tracking the deployment of hydrogen transport systems. OQGN and Fluxys plan to co-own and operate the infrastructure, leveraging their expertise to drive Oman's clean energy ambitions. The partnership also focuses on sharing best practices to accelerate low-carbon developments. The CEOs of both companies expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting their dedication to delivering sustainable energy solutions and contributing to global energy transition efforts. The signing ceremony, held in Muscat under the Minister of Energy and Minerals' auspices, marked a significant milestone in advancing Oman's green hydrogen and decarbonisation goals. This partnership signifies a key step in building international low-carbon value chains and bringing renewable hydrogen to Belgium and Europe, demonstrating a shared commitment to sustainable energy and environmental stewardship.
