Germany is making significant strides in promoting zero-emission technologies, particularly in the public transport sector. From July 2025, the country is reintroducing a comprehensive funding program to support the adoption of new battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell buses. The resumption of this funding initiative aims to propel around 10,000 planned bus upgrades previously put on hold and contribute to Germany's overarching goals of industrial decarbonization and achieving climate-neutral urban transport. To access these financial benefits, public transit operators are required to submit their applications by August 31, emphasizing the urgency in transitioning to cleaner transportation methods.
