Sarawak is making significant strides in its hydrogen mobility efforts with the upcoming opening of the PETROS Multifuel Station (MFS) in Batu Kawa. Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian recently inspected the station, highlighting its importance as the State's 11th MFS and second flagship station capable of dispensing hydrogen. The station, operated by SEDC Energy Sdn Bhd, will not only offer conventional fuels and electric vehicle fast-charging but will also utilize a unique hydrogen distribution model involving tube trailers from another station. This innovative approach sets the stage for Sarawak's commitment to establishing a comprehensive hydrogen refueling infrastructure. Supporting local livelihoods, the station will be operated by Koperasi Bomba & Penyelamat Malaysia, aiming to create sustainable income opportunities. With plans for more flagship stations and a growing network of MFS locations, Sarawak is at the forefront of hydrogen energy development. SEDC Energy's initiatives like the Rembus Hydrogen Plant and international collaborations further solidify Sarawak's position as a leader in hydrogen technology, aligning with Malaysia's Net Zero 2050 goal.
