Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu of Telangana highlighted the importance of accelerating the rollout of City Gas Distribution (CGD) infrastructure in Tier-2 towns for equitable access to clean energy. He called for increased investments in Bhagyanagar Gas, a joint venture of GAIL (India) and HPCL, to establish more CNG stations in urban and semi-urban areas. The Minister emphasized the need for collaboration between the Centre and States to drive India's clean energy transition and presented Telangana's initiatives under its Clean & Green Energy Policy 2025. He expressed Telangana's commitment to contributing to India's energy security and readiness to serve as a model for sustainable energy development. At the Urja Manthan 2025 conference in New Delhi, attended by Ministers from 22 States, he advocated for infrastructure enhancements along the East-West gas pipeline corridor and Central investments for gas-based industrialization. Additionally, he requested incentives for MSMEs and industries under schemes like SATAT and the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The Minister highlighted the importance of co-financing LNG and CNG terminals, promoting investments in bio-gas plants utilizing agricultural waste, establishing new CBG units, and adopting waste-to-energy technologies in agriculture-dense regions.
