The National Energy Administration reported that over 560 hydrogen energy-specific policies had been introduced nationwide by then, showcasing a strong commitment to sustainable energy solutions. China's hydrogen gas production and consumption both exceeded 36.5 million metric tons by the same period, ranking the nation first globally in this sector. The country has made significant investments in diversifying the hydrogen energy industry, moving beyond fuel cells to encompass a broader spectrum from raw material research to innovative application scenarios. Northern regions in China, known for their solid foundation in traditional industries and abundant energy resources, have played a key role in promoting hydrogen energy projects. With over 600 renewable energy-driven electrolysis projects planned and constructed nationwide by the end of 2024, China is making strides in clean hydrogen production. The country is also focusing on the demonstrative application of fuel cell vehicles, with the establishment of numerous hydrogen refueling stations and promotion of thousands of fuel cell vehicles.
