Chinese state company CGN has announced plans to invest more than 3bn reais in a renewable energy hub in Brazil's Piauí state. This investment will be directed towards wind, PV solar, and thermosolar generation, as well as energy storage projects, with a focus on job creation during the construction phase. The Brazilian government, during President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's visit to China, highlighted the importance of this collaboration. CGN, along with other Chinese firms like BYD and Huawei, met Brazilian government officials to discuss further cooperation. The partnership between China's Windey Energy Technology Group, Brazil's Senai Cimatec, and MME aims to develop energy storage solutions and advance research in wind energy and green hydrogen. The project will also work on integrating energy solutions with agriculture for sustainable irrigation and regional development. Additionally, agreements were signed to open up the Chinese market to Brazilian ethanol, increase exports, and collaborate on technological innovation in the energy sector, including sustainable aviation fuel production. Brazil's federal oil company Petrobras is also seeking partnerships with Chinese companies, focusing on cooperation in shipyards and potential business ventures to benefit both countries.
