BP Launches EoI for Renewable Hydrogen Offtake in Germany
Key Ideas
- BP invites potential customers to express interest in offtake of renewable hydrogen from its Lingen Green Hydrogen Project in Germany.
- The project, funded under the IPCEI scheme, involves a 100MW PEM electrolyser and aims to deliver renewable hydrogen by the second half of 2027.
- Interested parties can participate in the Expression of Interest phase starting from July 16, 2025, with a deadline for document submission on August 13, 2025.
- The renewable hydrogen from the project will be compliant with EU regulations and intended for use as a transport fuel, with delivery through the GET H2 hydrogen network.
BP has initiated an Expression of Interest (EoI) phase for potential customers to participate in the offtake of renewable hydrogen from its Lingen Green Hydrogen Project (LGH2) situated in Lingen, Germany. The project, supported by a funding grant from BMWE and the Lower-Saxony government under the IPCEI scheme, has received a final investment decision from BP. Construction work for the 100MW PEM electrolyser has commenced, with a target to start delivering renewable hydrogen by the second half of 2027. Interested parties can register for the EoI starting from July 16, 2025, and must submit the required documents by August 13, 2025. The renewable hydrogen produced will meet EU standards for non-biological transport fuel and will be integrated into the GET H2 hydrogen network. For those interested in participating in the EoI phase, registration forms are available on BP's website. For inquiries regarding the EoI process, the Lingen Green Hydrogen project team can be contacted via email.
