The German International Cooperation Society (GIZ) and ACCIONA Nordex Green Hydrogen (ANGH2) have partnered to drive the development of green hydrogen in southern Chile through the Frontera project in the Magallanes region. This collaboration, part of the H2Uppp program, aims to create a framework for optimal energy transportation, circular economy opportunities in green ammonia production, and community engagement. The project involves a wind farm powering an electrolysis plant to produce green hydrogen. The initiative not only seeks to meet Chile's domestic demand for green hydrogen but also targets exporting this renewable energy source to Europe, particularly Germany. The partnership is expected to accelerate the growth of sustainable projects, contributing to a robust hydrogen economy aligned with global decarbonization goals. The focus is on promoting employment, local development, and technology transfer, emphasizing Chile's strategic position in green hydrogen development. This collaboration reflects the significant potential of green hydrogen in Chile and receives financial support and technical assistance from the German Federal Government through GIZ.
