Hitachi Energy has partnered with China Energy Engineering Corp. (CEEC) to supply rectifier transformers for a major green hydrogen project in Songyuan, China. This initiative, part of China's national energy strategy, aims to accelerate the use of clean hydrogen in industries to reduce carbon emissions and modernize the energy sector. The project in Songyuan, one of the world's largest integrated green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production projects, focuses on water electrolysis powered by renewable energy. Hitachi Energy's rectifier transformers ensure a stable power supply, crucial for efficient and reliable hydrogen generation from wind and solar sources. The project is a key element of Jilin Province's 'Hydrogen Powering Jilin' initiative and has been selected as a low-carbon technology demonstration project by China's National Development and Reform Commission. Once operational, it is expected to annually produce 800,000 tons of green synthetic ammonia and methanol, marking a significant milestone in China's energy transition. Hitachi Energy's commitment to innovative transformer technology reflects its support for deep decarbonization and the development of sustainable energy projects.
