In a bid to enhance green industry cooperation, India and South Korea are exploring collaborative efforts for sustainable urban development. Delhi's environment minister, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, recently met with a delegation from South Korea's Korea Environmental Industry Association (KEIA) to discuss potential pilot projects in Delhi related to hydrogen mobility, smart pollution monitoring, and improving air quality. The meeting aimed at fostering partnerships under Korea's Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) programme to support Delhi's ambitious green goals and Green Action Plan. Discussions also revolved around organizing a South Korea–India Environmental Innovation Forum in Delhi to facilitate joint environmental solutions through the integration of South Korean technologies, Indian urban bodies, and global experts. The interactions focused on key areas such as hydrogen technologies, air quality, upcycling, circular economy, pollution control systems, and institutional research partnerships. Delhi seeks to implement cutting-edge environmental strategies to reduce industrial emissions, promote circular economy models, and build climate-resilient infrastructure, with a vision to become a model for sustainable urban development. KEIA presented a comprehensive catalogue of South Korean environmental technologies during the meeting, showcasing a willingness to collaborate with Delhi government departments and agencies on potential pilot projects. This initiative highlights a positive step towards leveraging international expertise and innovative solutions for addressing environmental challenges and fostering sustainable development in the capital city.
