A new report by IndexBox forecasts continuous growth in demand for hydrogen fluoride (hydrofluoric acid) in Latin America and the Caribbean region, with a projected CAGR of +1.0% in volume and +1.5% in value from 2024 to 2035. Consumption of hydrogen fluoride in the region reached 123K tons in 2024, primarily driven by Mexico with a 52% share of total volume. In terms of production, Latin America and the Caribbean produced 113K tons of hydrogen fluoride in 2024, with Mexico being the leading producer accounting for 58% of the total volume. Additionally, the region imported approximately 13K tons of hydrogen fluoride in 2024, marking an 8.7% increase from the previous year. The market is expected to maintain an upward consumption trend over the next decade, with Mexico leading both in consumption and production of hydrogen fluoride.
