Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) has made significant strides in India's clean energy sector by finalizing the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) for a groundbreaking 10,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) Green Hydrogen Generation Unit at the Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex in Haryana. Slated for commissioning by December 2027, this project represents the largest green hydrogen initiative in India to date and marks IndianOil's official entry into the green hydrogen economy. The shift to green hydrogen production is expected to lead to a substantial reduction in carbon emissions, in line with IndianOil's Net Zero roadmap and the Government of India's decarbonization goals. The project directly supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's National Green Hydrogen Mission, aimed at positioning India as a global hub for green hydrogen production and export.
