During a delegation-level talk in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Paraguay President Santiago Peña Palacios reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties between India and Paraguay. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in clean energy sectors like green hydrogen and biofuels, along with a shared dedication to combatting cybercrime, organised crime, and drug trafficking. Both leaders highlighted the vast potential for collaboration in digital technology, agriculture, defence, railways, and space. An MoU was signed to establish a Joint Commission Mechanism, providing a structured platform for ongoing cooperation. President Palacios' state visit included meetings with Indian officials, paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi, and exploring opportunities for partnership in trade, agriculture, health, and information technology. The visit underscores the strong economic relationship between the two countries, with Indian companies present in Paraguay and vice versa. The alignment on international issues such as UN reforms, climate change, and renewable energy further solidifies the bond between India and Paraguay.
