Infinium has announced the construction of Project Roadrunner, a significant eFuels production facility in Pecos, Texas, in partnership with Brookfield Asset Management and Breakthrough Energy Catalyst. This project aims to become the world's largest eFuels production site, focusing on sustainable aviation fuel production. The facility will produce 23,000 tonnes of eFuels annually, with a strong emphasis on job creation and economic growth in the region. Noteworthy partnerships with global aviation leaders like American Airlines and IAG demonstrate the industry's commitment to transitioning towards sustainable fuel sources. Infinium's technology utilizes waste CO2 and renewable energy to produce eFuels that are chemically identical to conventional petroleum-based fuels, offering a seamless integration with existing infrastructure. The Roadrunner project is expected to support the UK SAF Mandate, requiring a percentage of jet fuel to be sourced sustainably by 2030. Collaborations with NextEra Energy Resources for wind generation and Electric Hydrogen for green hydrogen production underline the project's focus on renewable energy and innovation. The facility is scheduled to start commercial operations in 2027, aiming to accelerate the production and adoption of eFuels on a global scale.
