Kit Carson Electric Cooperative, in collaboration with ENTRUST Solutions Group, has recently initiated the KCEC Hydrogen Safety Assessment project in Questa, Peñasco, and Taos, New Mexico. The primary goal of this project is to showcase the safety aspects and versatile applications of hydrogen as a reliable source of electricity. By utilizing water and solar power, the project plans to produce emission-free green hydrogen. Supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, the endeavor is seen as a crucial move towards implementing sustainable, dependable, and cost-effective energy solutions for both residential and commercial purposes across the KCEC service territory. Through this innovative project, Kit Carson Electric Cooperative is paving the way for green energy adoption and contributing to the decarbonization efforts in New Mexico.
