The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) Secretary, Santosh Kumar Sarangi, recently met with Odisha's Chief Secretary, Manoj Ahuja, along with other officials to discuss the progress of the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). The meeting focused on the challenges and opportunities in developing large-scale green hydrogen and green ammonia projects, especially in areas like the SEZ in Gopalpur. Odisha's strategic coastal location, along with a robust industrial ecosystem and supportive policy framework, positions it favorably to lead India's green hydrogen transition. The state aims to attract investments for the production and export of green hydrogen derivatives, leveraging key ports like Paradip and Gopalpur. The collaborative efforts between the government and industry players in Odisha indicate a positive outlook towards establishing a comprehensive roadmap for the green hydrogen ecosystem in India.
