QIMC and QMET Partner to Explore Natural Hydrogen and Helium in Nova Scotia
Key Ideas
  • Strategic partnership secured with QMET providing direct financial compensation.
  • Expansion of QIMC's exploration activities into new territory with proven geological characteristics.
  • Leveraging successful exploration model from St-Bruno-de-Guigues property.
  • Previous soil sampling in 2024 confirmed favorable conditions for hydrogen and helium.
Quebec Innovative Materials Corp. (QIMC) has entered a strategic exploration agreement with Q Precious & Battery Metals Corp. (QMET) to investigate natural hydrogen and helium deposits in Nova Scotia. The exploration will target the Cobequid and Chedabucto fault systems, utilizing QIMC's proprietary methods such as soil gas surveys and geophysical studies. The region shares geological similarities with QIMC's properties in Quebec, featuring high geothermal gradients and elements conducive to hydrogen generation. QMET will compensate QIMC for their expertise, while INRS will collaborate on the initiative. The partnership marks an expansion of QIMC's exploration activities into new territories with established geological potential, building upon successful models from their properties in Quebec. Previous soil sampling in 2024 validated the presence of favorable conditions for hydrogen and helium accumulation, setting a positive trajectory for the exploration endeavor.
