Siemens, a German technology conglomerate, and RIC Energy, a Spanish renewable energy company, have partnered to develop projects in the sectors of renewable hydrogen, green ammonia, and e-fuels in Spain. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies involves various entities under Siemens Group and focuses on both technical and financial aspects. The collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency, promote process decarbonization, ensure industrial safety, and advance digitalization in infrastructures. Additionally, Siemens and RIC Energy plan to work together on communication strategies to demonstrate the socio-economic benefits of their projects on energy transition and regional industrial growth. José Luis Moya, CEO of RIC Energy, expressed optimism regarding the partnership, highlighting the potential to accelerate transformative projects in hydrogen and its derivatives. Fernando Silva, CEO of Siemens Spain, underlined Siemens' dedication to the decarbonization process, supporting sustainable fuel production initiatives like those of RIC Energy in Spain. Both companies intend to coordinate closely on the next steps, including establishing consortium schemes for project execution. Siemens has previously formed partnerships in the energy sector, including collaborations with Metacon, Advent Technologies, and HH2E. The company also secured contracts for projects like the La Robla Green e-methanol plant in Spain and a Clean Hydrogen Coastline project in Germany. The collaboration between Siemens and RIC Energy signifies a significant step towards advancing renewable energy solutions and promoting sustainability in Spain.
