Union Minister Pralhad Joshi visited a mega integrated renewable energy project at Pinnapuram, Andhra Pradesh, developed by Greenco Group with a total investment of USD 4.2 billion. The project includes a pumped storage component worth USD 1.2 billion and USD 3 billion allocated for solar and wind generation infrastructure. The project, known as the GW-scale Integrated Renewable Energy Project, consists of 4,000 MW of solar, 1,000 MW of wind, and 1,680 MW of pumped hydropower generation. This initiative aims to generate dispatchable, carbon-free energy to support industries like green steel, green aluminium, and green hydrogen production. Anil Chalamalasetty, the Group CEO and MD of Greenko, highlighted the project's importance in global efforts to decarbonize industries that are challenging to reduce emissions from.
