Energy Vault Holdings Inc., a Westlake Village-based energy storage company, has recently made significant strides in expanding its battery storage projects in Texas. The company announced the commencement of commercial operation of a 57-megawatt battery energy storage system in Snyder, Texas, marking its first owned and operated system within the region. Prior to this, Energy Vault entered into an agreement with Jupiter Power Inc., based in Austin, Texas, to install a 100-megawatt battery energy storage system at an undisclosed location in Texas. This collaboration aims to reinforce their foothold in the Lone Star state. Energy Vault's CEO, Robert Piconi, highlighted the company's strategic shift towards owning and operating assets to ensure revenue predictability and enhance their presence in targeted power markets. The partnership with Jupiter Power will leverage Energy Vault's power management platform to optimize plant operations, with plans for the new plant to contribute 100 megawatts of power to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas grid. This venture signifies Energy Vault's commitment to growth and innovation in the energy storage sector, with a focus on delivering sustainable solutions for the evolving energy landscape.
