Brenmiller Energy Ltd. has secured €25 million funding from the European Hydrogen Bank for the SolWinHy Cádiz S.L. project in Arcos de la Frontera, Spain. This initiative aims to produce 30,000 tons of green e-methanol annually, powered by renewable energy sources including off-grid solar and wind. The project will utilize Brenmiller's bGen™ thermal energy storage system to store and provide 56 MWh of clean heat for the production of green e-methanol. By incorporating 100% renewable energy and sustainable water sources, the SolWinHy Project showcases the potential of hydrogen and e-fuels to decarbonize various sectors in the European Union. The project's success is seen as a model for future clean energy endeavors, with Brenmiller positioned to deliver additional projects in Europe. The innovative green methanol production plant in Arcos de la Frontera operates independently of the national grid, ensuring all hydrogen and methanol production is environmentally friendly. Through a combination of solar PV installations, wind farms, and bGen™ TES capabilities, the facility aims to lead the way in sustainable energy production. With advanced negotiations already underway for supplying green methanol to Germany, SolWinHy Cádiz is poised to make significant contributions to the region's renewable energy goals.
