Electric Hydrogen, a manufacturer of high-power electrolyzer plants in the United States, has been chosen by Infinium to deploy its 100 MW HYPRPlant at the large-scale eFuels facility, Project Roadrunner, in Pecos, Texas. This partnership aims to revolutionize eFuels production, with the facility expected to be the world's largest eFuels production site. The project will focus on producing sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF), eDiesel, and eNaphtha using CO2, power, and water for various sectors like aviation, heavy-duty trucking, plastics, and maritime. It is projected to commence commercial production in 2027, bringing skilled jobs and economic growth to West Texas. Infinium's CEO expressed satisfaction with Electric Hydrogen's innovative approach, emphasizing the importance of low-cost renewable hydrogen in eFuel production. Electric Hydrogen's CEO highlighted the significance of industrial-scale clean hydrogen production in creating new markets for American-made fuels and supporting domestic manufacturing. The financing partners, Brookfield Asset Management and Breakthrough Energy Catalyst, are backing this project, making it the world's first large-scale project-financed eFuels initiative. This initiative is set to supply sustainable aviation fuel to International Airlines Group over a 10-year period. The project announcement solidifies Electric Hydrogen's position in the hydrogen market, following other strategic partnerships and projects globally.
