OMV has recently inaugurated Austria's largest green hydrogen plant at its Schwechat refinery near Vienna. This cutting-edge facility utilizes renewable electricity and PEM electrolysis technology to produce up to 1,500 tons of green hydrogen annually. The €25 million project is pivotal not only for the refinery but also for the future of hydrogen production in Europe. By aiming to slash CO₂ emissions by 15,000 tons per year, the plant is positioned as a significant player in the transition to sustainable energy.
