Plug Power Inc. has announced an expanded collaboration with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) through a 2-gigawatt electrolyzer agreement tied to a major green fuels project in Uzbekistan. The agreement, formalized at the Tashkent International Investment Forum, involves Plug providing electrolyzer systems for a $5.5 billion green chemical production facility in Uzbekistan. This facility, backed by the Government of Uzbekistan, will produce sustainable aviation fuel, green urea, and green diesel. Plug's CEO, Andy Marsh, emphasized the company's role in leading the global hydrogen transition and delivering for customers in the energy sector. The partnership with Allied Green builds upon a previous 3 GW electrolyzer deal in Australia, indicating a shared ambition to scale green hydrogen and ammonia production globally. The Uzbekistan project marks another step in this collaboration, with the final investment decision expected in late 2025.
