At the Tashkent International Investment Forum, Plug Power, a global leader in hydrogen solutions, announced a significant expansion of its partnership with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) by signing a 2-gigawatt (GW) electrolyzer contract. The contract is linked to a sustainable fuels project in Uzbekistan, where a $5.5bn green chemical production facility will be developed. This facility will focus on producing sustainable aviation fuel, green urea, and green diesel, with the support of the Uzbekistan government. The agreement signifies Plug Power's commitment to leading the hydrogen transition globally. Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power, highlighted the company's role in delivering proven technology at an industrial scale, positioning Plug as a preferred electrolyzer supplier for large-scale decarbonization projects worldwide. This project in Uzbekistan follows AGA's commitment to a 3 GW electrolyzer capacity in Australia, demonstrating a significant stride towards sustainable production in multiple regions. Sanjay Shrestha, President of Plug Power, emphasized the collaboration with Allied Green as a showcase of Plug's strength in delivering scalable electrolyzer solutions to support ambitious decarbonization efforts worldwide.
