Adani Group has introduced India's first hydrogen-powered truck for mining logistics in Chhattisgarh. The truck, operational in Raipur, is designed to transport coal efficiently from Gare Pelma III Block to the state's power plant. Capable of carrying up to 40 tonnes of cargo, the vehicle boasts a 200 km range on a single refill, aiming to revolutionize the transportation of goods. With three hydrogen tanks, it matches diesel-powered heavy-duty vehicles in load capacity and range while significantly reducing emissions. The truck's utilization of hydrogen fuel cells ensures that the only by-products are water vapor and warm air, making it a clean alternative in the commercial vehicle sector. This initiative highlights a shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly practices in the transportation industry.
