Oosterhoff announced initiatives such as the Hydrogen Interruptible Rate Pilot and the Hydrogen Innovation Fund, aimed at incentivizing hydrogen production and consumption while creating job opportunities and reducing emissions. Furthermore, plans to regulate dedicated hydrogen pipelines and expand the use of hydrogen in various sectors were disclosed. Oosterhoff highlighted the potential of a hydrogen economy to generate thousands of jobs while significantly cutting down emissions. The event culminated in the presentation of the King Charles III Coronation Medal to Maike Althaus, recognizing her outstanding advocacy for hydrogen use in Canada.
