ENERTAG's Mattheshöhe Wind Project: Advancing Renewable Energy Integration
Key Ideas
  • Six ENERCON E138 EP3 E2 wind turbines commissioned in Brandenburg with 4.26 MW output each, part of a regional energy strategy blending wind, solar, and hydrogen production.
  • Longevity focus with 20-30 year service life, ENERTRAG implements continuous monitoring and maintenance to optimize turbine performance and reliability.
  • Local collaboration key to success, as seen in cooperation with Uckerfelde and Gramzow authorities; a mobile hydrogen production unit highlights energy system integration.
  • Technical tour of turbines showcases internal operations and maintenance; inauguration event powered by wind turbine output, fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
ENERTRAG, a German energy company, has completed the commissioning of six new ENERCON E138 EP3 E2 wind turbines in northern Brandenburg as part of the Mattheshöhe wind project. These turbines, with a remarkable 4.26 MW output, 160m hub height, and 138m rotor diameter, contribute to the Verbundkraftwerk Uckermark's regional development strategy, integrating wind and solar energy with energy storage and hydrogen production. The emphasis on technical monitoring and equipment longevity ensures a stable and high-availability energy supply, overseen by ENERTRAG through continuous operational monitoring and maintenance efforts. Tom Lange, Director of Wind and PV Development at ENERTRAG, praised the project's technological advancements and regional dedication. The project's success also stems from close cooperation with local authorities, including the municipality of Uckerfelde and Gramzow, showcasing a sustainable deployment approach. A mobile hydrogen production unit on-site demonstrates the integration of energy installations into a comprehensive system, converting turbine electricity into hydrogen for various industrial applications and storage. A guided technical tour provided insight into the turbine's internal workings, emphasizing transparency and technical requirements. Moreover, the event was powered by wind turbine output, bringing together technical teams, local businesses, and institutional representatives to celebrate the project's inauguration and promote continued collaboration in advancing renewable energy integration.
