Chhattisgarh has made significant strides in green mobility with the launch of India's first hydrogen fuel cell electric truck for mining operations. Adani Enterprises introduced this innovative initiative at the Gare Pelma III coal block in Raigarh district. The trucks are equipped with advanced technology and three hydrogen storage tanks, enabling them to carry up to 40 tonnes of cargo over a range of 200 kilometers. This milestone highlights a shift towards cleaner transportation in the mining sector, reducing carbon emissions and noise levels. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off the truck, emphasizing the state's dedication to sustainability. The use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles presents a promising solution for zero-emission transportation, offering comparable performance to diesel trucks while being more environmentally friendly.
