Bankstown-based AMSL Aero has appointed Dr Antonio Di Pietro as its new Chief Executive Officer to lead the development of the Vertiia eVTOL and the hydrogen-powered flight test program. With experience in scaling aerospace technology ventures and a background in the aerospace industry, Dr Di Pietro is expected to drive AMSL's development forward. The company is focused on bringing zero-emission, long-range, point-to-point aviation capabilities to Australia and beyond through the Vertiia eVTOL. Currently in the development phase, the Vertiia is a hydrogen-electric vectored-thrust eVTOL designed to connect regional Australia to metropolitan capital cities, with projected speeds of 160 KTAS and a range of 540 nm. Dr Di Pietro's main objective as CEO will be to lead AMSL's campaign to have the Vertiia type-certified for commercial operations.
