German startup Evia Aero is making strides in the sustainable aviation sector by planning to launch a regional airline in Europe using zero-emissions aircraft. The company has finalized a deal to acquire six Beech 1900D-HE aircraft, which will be retrofitted with a cutting-edge hydrogen-electric propulsion system developed by Australian company Stralis Aircraft. These aircraft will have the capacity to carry up to 15 passengers for distances of 432 nautical miles at speeds of 270 knots. The Stralis technology offers significant advantages, including a six-fold weight reduction over existing alternatives, increased range compared to battery-powered aircraft, reduced operational costs, and notable noise reduction. Evia Aero, as the European launch customer for the Stralis propulsion system, is at the forefront of sustainable aviation innovation.
