Provaris Energy has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with K Line to collaborate on the development and operation of Provaris’ compressed hydrogen transport and storage technologies, specifically focusing on the H2Neo carrier and H2Leo barge. This partnership is set to bolster Provaris’ hydrogen export plans, including ventures in Norway, and is in line with existing agreements to supply hydrogen to Germany. The anticipated demand for low-carbon hydrogen in Europe, coupled with Germany's plan to import a substantial portion of its hydrogen needs, underscores the importance of such collaborations. Over the coming year, Provaris and K Line will jointly explore and assess the design, construction, and functioning of hydrogen vessels, while also examining the potential for deeper collaboration or formal partnerships. Martin Carolan, the Managing Director and CEO of Provaris, highlighted that this MoU signifies a significant milestone in advancing their regional shipping solution to address Europe's burgeoning hydrogen import requirements by 2030. With 'K' Line providing technical and operational support to enhance Provaris' vessel development plans, the collaboration aims to pave the way for an energy-efficient and cost-effective approach to meet the hydrogen demands of the European market.
