Daimler Truck has recently expanded the Mercedes-Benz Würzburg commercial vehicle center in Würzburg, Germany, to enhance its services for trucks and buses utilizing battery and fuel cell technology. The new workshop hall, covering 250 sq. m, is equipped with specialized high-voltage workstations for models like the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 and eCitaro electric city bus. Notably, the hall includes a ceiling crane for efficient removal of high-voltage batteries and a roof workstation for comfortable work on vehicle roofs where batteries are installed. Additionally, the facility is prepared for hydrogen technology, with features like sensor technology, a gas workstation, and an automatic extraction system. An 'evaluation area' will be set up for safe hydrogen discharge and refueling. The site also boasts multiple charging stations for employee and customer cars, as well as a charging station with two points for trucks and buses, allowing charging currents of up to 300 kW. With around 90 employees, Würzburg becomes the third Group-owned site in Germany with such technical capabilities, joining Haan near Wuppertal and Stuttgart-Feuerbach.
