The Odisha government is set to introduce hydrogen-powered buses in Bhubaneswar, marking a significant move towards sustainable urban transport. In a partnership with a leading green energy company, the state aims to test three hydrogen buses as part of a pilot project in the city. This initiative is a key step in Odisha's green energy plan to promote zero-emission technology. Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra highlighted the importance of this step towards a cleaner environment. Following the trial runs in Bhubaneswar, the hydrogen bus service is expected to expand across other areas of the state. This introduction of hydrogen buses complements Bhubaneswar's existing green public transport infrastructure, which includes a fleet of electric buses, showcasing the city's commitment to sustainable transportation and innovation in the urban development sector.
