The summit emphasized the need for policy frameworks that prioritize local value creation, regional cooperation, and technology transfer to drive industrial ecosystems in Africa. Ramokgopa urged African leaders to take a proactive role in shaping the continent's position in the global green hydrogen industry, emphasizing the importance of agency and solidarity in the energy transition. The Africa Green Hydrogen Report, launched at the summit, showcases the continent's technical readiness for scaled project execution, highlighting Africa's potential to move from pilot projects to large-scale initiatives. The African Green Hydrogen Alliance predicts substantial economic growth for member countries, with the potential to boost GDP by billions of dollars and create millions of jobs over the next few decades. The alliance stresses that Africa has a choice to either passively engage in resource extraction or actively drive the green energy economy through strategic policies, investments, and regional collaboration. The summit concluded with a call for Africa to seize the opportunity presented by green hydrogen and position itself at the forefront of the global green economy.
