Innovative Green Energy Integration at Institute of Engineering and Technology
Key Ideas
  • Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) has established cutting-edge centers focusing on green hydrogen and electric vehicles.
  • The institution successfully generates green hydrogen using wind and solar energy along with battery manufacturing for electric vehicles.
  • IET's smart renewable energy system and green hydrogen center provide a hands-on platform for research and experimentation in renewable energy and hydrogen technology.
  • The electric vehicle lab at IET supports advanced training in EV technology, allowing in-depth study of key components like battery dynamics and charging systems.
The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) has introduced innovative systems for generating green hydrogen onsite through a combination of wind and solar energy. Alongside this, the institution is also involved in battery manufacturing for all-terrain electric vehicles. Currently producing 4 kilowatts of electricity from renewable sources, IET aims to power its green hydrogen production using this generated energy. The director, Prof Vineet Kansal, highlighted the establishment of a smart renewable energy-based management system integrated with a green hydrogen center, providing a research platform for studying real-world dynamics of a smart grid. Prof Arun Kumar Tiwari emphasized the educational significance of the centers, offering students, researchers, and energy professionals the opportunity to delve into renewable energy integration, hydrogen energy cycles, and smart grid operations in a secure laboratory setting. The electric vehicle lab at IET serves as a modern platform for advanced research and experimentation in electric mobility, enabling detailed exploration of EV technology components such as battery dynamics and propulsion systems.
